Market overview
The market dashboard as data: breadth, our futures Fear & Greed composite with its six sub-scores, BTC/ETH volume dominance, and eight ranked top-N lists, all from the live tape, refreshed every 10 seconds.
/v1/market/overviewIndividual pair data tells you what a symbol is doing; this endpoint tells you what the market is doing. It aggregates the whole-market snapshot into regime-level readings (how one-sided the day is, how fearful or greedy the tape looks, where the volume is concentrating) plus the ranked movers lists from the Osiris market page. It is the natural first call of any session: many strategies read the regime here before deciding how to treat individual signals.
Request
| Parameter | In | Description |
|---|---|---|
count | query | Rows per ranked section, 1-25. Default 10. |
exchange | query | Venue the board describes. See Exchanges. Default: Binance. |
coverage | query | single (default) or all. The latter merges every served venue into one board, each coin counted once from the venue resolved for it (exchange becomes the preferred venue for multi-listed coins). |

}Breadth (overview)
up/down count pairs by the sign of their 24h change, avgChange is the unweighted mean across all pairs, and totalVol24h sums quote volume market-wide. Breadth is the fastest sanity check there is: a green BTC with 313 of 527 pairs red is a very different market than the same BTC candle with breadth confirming. btc is included precisely so you can make that comparison in one glance.
The Fear & Greed composite
Most fear & greed indices you'll find online blend social sentiment, Google trends and survey-ish inputs, and update daily. Ours is deliberately different: it is computed entirely from the live futures tape, refreshes every 10 seconds, and every input is a number you can independently verify from this same API. It scores 0 (extreme fear) to 100 (extreme greed) from six sub-scores, each mapped so 50 is neutral:
| Component | Weight | What it measures | Saturation |
|---|---|---|---|
momentum | 20% | Average 24h change across all pairs | ±5% average move pins the sub-score at 0/100 |
breadth | 15% | Share of pairs up on the day | 0% up = 0, 100% up = 100 |
trend | 15% | Equal-weight market price vs its own 7-day average: the composite's memory, so one red day inside a strong week reads as cooling greed, not fear | ±10% deviation saturates |
funding | 20% | Volume-weighted funding rate vs the 0.01% baseline: what leveraged longs pay to exist | ±0.04% deviation saturates |
buyPressure | 15% | Aggregate 1h taker delta as a share of 1h volume: how one-sided actual executions are | ±15% saturates |
volatility | 15% | Volume-weighted NATR(5m), inverted: calm tape scores high, panic tape scores low | — |
The components are the interesting part. A composite of 50 can be a genuinely neutral market, or violent disagreement, like euphoric funding (90) against panicked volatility (10). Divergences between components often say more than the headline number: funding-greed with breadth-fear is the classic "crowded longs on a narrowing advance" configuration.
Two components can report null, and the composite redistributes their weight instead of faking a neutral reading: buyPressure is null on a venue view without a public trade tape, and trend is null while its level history is still building (the first day after a fresh deployment). trend is also the one market-wide component: it describes the merged crypto market on every venue view, because "where is the market relative to its week" has no per-venue answer.
Dominance
dominance is volume dominance on the perpetuals we track (BTC's and ETH's share of total 24h quote volume), not the market-cap dominance from spot data sites. For futures traders this is the more actionable reading: it answers "where is today's trading actually happening?". Falling BTC volume share with rising total volume is the signature of an alt rotation; spiking BTC share usually marks risk-off concentration. The btc/eth shares are denominated in crypto volume only; classes splits the full universe by asset class (crypto, stock, commodity — tokenized equities and commodities trade as ordinary perpetuals on these venues), with pct taken against allVol24h, the all-class total.
The eight ranked sections
| Section | Ranked by |
|---|---|
gainers / losers | 24h change, best / worst first |
volume | 24h quote volume |
volatility | NATR on 5m bars: the fastest movers right now, price-normalized |
funding | Absolute funding rate: extremes in either direction, where squeeze risk lives |
trades | Trade-count growth vs recent average |
volSpikes | Volume growth vs recent average: pairs doing multiples of their normal business |
pressure | Absolute 1h taker delta as a share of 1h volume: the most one-sided tape |
Each row is the pair's full market-snapshot object (see Market snapshot) plus a ticker block with base_asset, precision and icon: enough to render a movers widget with zero additional requests. For ranking by metrics beyond these eight (specific volatility estimators, order-flow z-scores, trend scores…), use Rankings.
